There are eighty vata or bodily movement related diseases mentioned in Ayurvedic Texts. They are collectively called ‘Vata nanatmaja vyadhis’ which means various movement diseases. Facial palsy and Bells Palsy together is one among them. The treatment for facial palsy and Bell’s Palsy is termed as Ardita Ayurveda. According to Ayurveda it is a disease afflicting the parts above the neck particularly the face.
